Invitation to the Quebec Economy consultation

'CRE de Laval' was invited this Tuesday, March 18, to the consultation organized by Quebec Economy, the Quebec Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy, as part of the development of its upcoming Integrated Energy Resource Management Plan (PGIRE).

What are the challenges of the 2025 PGIRE?

  • Determining how Quebec’s valuable resources will be used for energy production;
  • Meeting growing production demands in a context of decarbonization and economic growth;
  • Bringing together stakeholders from very different sectors to collectively build Quebec’s path toward carbon neutrality.

As a leading environmental organization in the Laval region, we were invited to take part in these consultations to help lay the groundwork for the management plan, whose first submission will take place on April 1. The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including researchers, unions, municipal representatives, industries and energy developers, as well as Indigenous groups and other environmental organizations like ours.

In the context of the ecological crisis, will the ministry succeed in reconciling all these perspectives to deliver an energy management plan that respects environmental priorities?

We certainly hope so! See you on April 1, 2026, to discover the outcome of the consultations.
