'CRE de Laval' applauds the announcement of a metropolitan conservation park along the Mille-Îles river

News - Intro image

The Conseil régional de l’environnement de Laval salutes yesterday's major announcement; 10 municipalities of the north shore have united to work together towards the creation of a metropolitan conservation park along the Mille-Îles river.

We are talking about 18,27 % - or 4 872,5 hectares - of Laval's territory.

We invite the City of Laval to continue to build on this momentum, notably by acquiring new and more ambitious protection targets, in order to get closer to the 30% target of protected territory, as recommended by the new Global framework for biodiversity of the Kunming-Montreal Accord.

We congratulate and encourage the mayor of Laval and his team, particularly the Environmental and Ecocitizenship department for the great work done. We also want to highlight the determination of our partners Éco-Nature | Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles and CANOPÉE - Le réseau des bois de Laval.
